What’s faster, 330i or 530i?
As you can see, the BMW 330i and 530i have the same power output, coming from a 2. The 3 Series, being just a tad smaller and lighter, can hit 60 MPH almost half a second quicker than the larger 5 Series sedan. The BMW 330i is the base configuration. It uses a turbocharged engine, rear-wheel drive, and an eight-speed sport automatic transmission to go from zero to 60 mph in 5. This base BMW 330i trim can also reach a top speed of 130 mph (or 155 mph with performance tires and an increased speed limiter). The biggest difference is size and driving feel. The BMW 330i is a compact luxury sedan that emphasizes sporty handling and agility, while the BMW 530i is a midsize luxury sedan designed for a smoother ride, additional interior space, and more executive-level comfort.
Which is better, 320d or 330i?
For our money the 330i marks the sweet spot with extra performance, safety tech and standard features for only a fraction more than $3k over the 320d entry-point. M340i has a quicker (but still non linear) rack and much more tightly composed suspension. Engine wise the 330i is plenty to get going, never feels slow or underpowered. The m340i feels much quicker once you get above about 3. It has the big power effortlessness that isn’t quite present in the 330i.
