M-Lite? In case you haven’t been paying attention to what BMW’s been doing lately with this M-lite thing, the M340i isn’t a full-on M car, and certainly not an M Competition or M CS. Rather, it’s a big-engine 3 Series with M-enhanced braking, suspension, and engine tuning. The M340i is more practical and can make power easily but it doesn’t handle like a M car. If you want a car that is better engineered and much more of an all around drivers car that you can have fun on the twisties and really it is a level above in all aspects except tunability then M2.Longtime VAG owner here, just go with the M340i x-drive. It beats the S4 in every way, including aesthetics IMO. It’s quicker, handles better with better balance and the ZF8 tranny is perfectly matched to this car. I even think the Live Cockpit Pro is decent, but iDrive is superior compared to Audi’s aging MMI setup.
