The short crankshaft isn’t as susceptible to flex/whip. V12s are inherently balanced and very smooth (firing events every 60 degrees of crank rotation, versus every 90 for a V8 or every 180 for a 4-cylinder). If you’re going for performance luxury, a V12 is pretty ideal.
