Engine oils with the approval BMW Longlife 04 have a lower content of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur and therefore burn with fewer pollutants than oils with the approval BMW Longlife 01. They are considered Low SAPS oils. BMW Longlife-04 engine oil was developed for the newer BMW engines from 2004 – for both diesel and petrol engines.
