Why are so many cars being removed from Motability?
The decision affects models from #BMW, #MercedesBenz, #Audi, #Lexus and #AlfaRomeo. Motability says the change is part of a wider shift to prioritise vehicles that offer practical value, meet mobility needs and support the government’s goal to increase the use of British-built cars by 2035. Premium car brands, including BMW and Mercedes-Benz, have been removed from the Motability Scheme with immediate effect after a commitment to buy British-built vehicles. From 2035, it wants half of all the vehicles it leases through the scheme to be made in Britain.
